Beeline Stories - Final Project

This subject examines the effect communication and media have on instigating social innovation and change. The project was the final submission for media research and the final practical design project.


Design Proposal Brief


Introduce an Instagram handle called, “Beeline.stories” which will showcase fictional storylines on topics related to social media. Introducing a new method of storytelling through short form video content, as people are now interested more in short videos rather than IGTV videos. The viewership of IGTV has declined since the introduction of Reels, since the attention span of viewers has also become less.


Concept


Beeline stories is a concept that launches a new way of storytelling through the medium of episodic reels. Each season will showcase a storyline on a particular topic. All the seasons are Independent of each other but have an overarching theme of social media.

The first season was about Online dating and the second season showcased a new Influencer's life





Process


The pre shoot process included, Logo design for beeline stories, theme and storylines, script for both seasons, shooting plan, casting and storyboards.

Shoot


The shooting for season 1 took 3 days and for season 2 it took 2 days.

Marketing Plan


The marketing plan for Beeline Stories included:

1. Creation of logo and logo animation.



2. Graphics for pre posting on the main content.



3. Beeline Dictionary which was a concept through which terms were explained in the form of what Beeline Stories meant, example character sketches, season definitions and many more.




4. Paid Instagram promotion which got the page 35k views.


5. Future collaboration plans.


Post shoot


Post the shoot, the following things were done.

  1. Editing of the teaser and trailers

  2. Editing of all the episodes of the season

  3. During the gap of posting episodes, stories were posted to keep the audience engaged.

  4. Posters for each episode.
